BYD to Unveil New Han Flagship Sedan at Chengdu Motor Show
BYD Auto will officially debut its new flagship sedan, the Han, at the Chengdu Motor Show on August 21. The vehicle is expected to offer the longest pure electric range for a large sedan globally.
Chinese automaker BYD Auto announced it will officially unveil its new flagship sedan, the Han, at the Chengdu Motor Show on August 21. This debut marks a significant expansion for BYD in the large sedan segment.
The Han is engineered to deliver an extended electric range, reportedly reaching 1008 kilometers on the CLTC standard, positioning it as potentially the longest-range large electric sedan globally. Performance figures for the four-wheel-drive variant include a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 270 km/h.
In addition to the pure electric version, the Han will also be available as a plug-in hybrid. The pure electric model will feature either a single or dual motor setup, while the plug-in hybrid will be powered by a 1.5T engine paired with an electric motor.
This launch follows a strong July performance for BYD's Dynasty series, which sold over 161,148 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 20.5%. Models like the Song Ultra and Yuan PLUS have shown robust demand, contributing to the company's overall sales growth.
