BYD has released official images and details for its upcoming "Tang Series 8" SUV. The vehicle is slated to offer an all-electric range exceeding 800km and is targeted at quality-conscious families.

Automaker BYD has presented official images and key specifications for its forthcoming "Tang Series 8" SUV. The vehicle is set to feature an all-electric driving range surpassing 800 kilometers. This new model is positioned as a mid-to-large size SUV, aimed at families seeking a premium personal vehicle.
The "Series 8" Tang is described as inheriting the design ethos and technological advancements of its larger counterpart, the "Series 9" Tang. However, it focuses on a five-seat configuration, differentiating itself from the recently launched "Series 9", which is a full-size seven-seater SUV aimed at business use or larger families. Together, these models are intended to reinforce BYD's flagship "Dynasty" series.
Dimensions for the vehicle are 5045mm in length, 1980mm in width, and 1740-1760mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2950mm. It features a unibody construction and has a top speed of 250 km/h. The "Series 8" Tang will be available in both 5- and 7-seat versions and utilizes BYD's lithium iron phosphate battery technology.
Powering the "Series 8" Tang is an electric motor with a peak output of 300 kW. Customers will have a range of options for wheels and exterior finishes, including various roof colors and trim choices. The vehicle includes a standard panoramic sunroof and is equipped with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and an Event Data Recorder (EDR).
