BYD unveils Yangwang Altior luxury sedan for UAE market
BYD’s luxury sub-brand Yangwang has confirmed the Altior name for its upcoming flagship sedan, which is scheduled for a UAE debut in early November.
BYD's premium marque, Yangwang, has officially designated its forthcoming executive sedan as the Altior. Previously identified only by the internal codename HU, the vehicle will enter the United Arab Emirates market next month through the company's local partner, Al-Futtaim.
The manufacturer released teaser imagery showcasing a sedan featuring rear-hinged doors and a roof-mounted lidar sensor, signaling a focus on autonomous driving technology. The exterior styling reflects design elements found in the existing Yangwang U8 SUV, maintaining a cohesive aesthetic for the brand’s luxury portfolio.
While the company has not yet released specific powertrain configurations or pricing, the launch marks a significant expansion of BYD's presence in the ultra-luxury segment. The move follows recent efforts by the manufacturer to establish a footprint in the Middle Eastern automotive market.
