BYD announced that its new Fangchengbao S model has exceeded expectations in pre-orders, with monthly sales projected to surpass 10,000 to 15,000 vehicles. The company also plans international expansion with charging infrastructure.

BYD disclosed on September 29 that its newly launched Fangchengbao S model has garnered stronger-than-expected pre-orders. Dealerships have reported significant customer activity, leading the company to forecast monthly sales of over 10,000, potentially reaching 15,000 units.

Priced between 189,900 and 229,900 yuan (approximately $26,000-$31,500 USD), it is offered alongside a shooting brake variant, the Fangchengbao S GT, priced from 219,900 to 239,900 yuan. Both models are positioned as mid-to-large sized vehicles and feature a CLTC range of up to 900 kilometers.
In separate strategic announcements, BYD revealed plans to establish 6,000 fast-charging stations overseas, aiming to build a robust ecosystem by integrating its energy storage and solar businesses. The company emphasized its commitment to mastering core technologies beyond batteries, including semiconductors and software, which are deemed crucial for the future of automotive intelligence.
BYD also shared insights on overcoming business challenges, recounting the company's journey from a small startup to a large enterprise that faced near-failure multiple times. The company encouraged aspiring individuals to set ambitious goals and persevere through difficulties, drawing parallels to its own growth trajectory.
