BYD, the prominent Chinese automotive manufacturer, has announced that its specialized vehicle brand, Yangwang (方程豹汽车), has achieved a significant sales milestone, surpassing 600,000 units sold. The Yangwang brand officially launched its logo in July 2023, with its debut model, the Leopard 5 (豹5), unveiled in August of the same year.

The Leopard 5 is positioned as a performance hybrid off-road SUV, built upon BYD's dedicated DMO (Dual Mode Off-road) platform. This platform is engineered to provide enhanced capabilities for challenging terrains, catering to a niche market seeking specialized vehicles.

More recently, BYD indicated that its newly launched Yangwang S model has seen stronger-than-expected pre-orders, suggesting robust market reception. The company projects that the Yangwang S could achieve monthly sales figures ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 units, contributing significantly to the brand's overall sales volume.

In parallel with its product development, BYD is also expanding its global infrastructure strategy, including plans to establish 6,000 fast-charging stations internationally. The company emphasizes its commitment to controlling core technologies, not only in battery advancements but also in semiconductors and software, which are identified as crucial components for the future of intelligent mobility.
