ByteDance expands Jimeng AI with integrated short-drama studio

ByteDance has introduced a specialized studio tool within its Jimeng AI ecosystem, designed to facilitate the production of short-form dramas. The platform centralizes several stages of the creative process, including script development, character and scene generation, and video post-production.

The system is powered by three proprietary models: DreamScript, which handles narrative generation; Anycook, which generates visual assets; and DreamShot, which manages storyboarding. Beyond generation, the suite enables content creators to swap specific shots, perform audio reconstruction, and re-style existing dramas to cater to different global demographics.

This launch marks a strategic shift for ByteDance, moving from individual AI tasks toward comprehensive production infrastructure. By streamlining the workflow for episodic content, the company aims to reduce the technical barriers for creators and production teams operating in the high-volume short-video sector.
