ByteDance reportedly cuts Doubao team after app passes 200 million DAU

ByteDance is reducing the size of its Doubao app's general session team by approximately half, according to a LatePost report. The team, which previously numbered around 50 employees, was responsible for chat product strategy and evaluation.

Some employees are expected to transfer to Doubao's monetization and Feishu teams, while others may face layoffs. Additionally, Doubao's product posttrain-chat team is also being scaled back as demand for dialogue-related work decreases.

These adjustments come after Doubao surpassed 200 million daily active users. The company, however, is reportedly continuing to optimize the chat experience rather than discontinuing it.
