ByteDance Reportedly Developing Real-Time Spatial Video AI Model
ByteDance is reportedly developing an AI model for real-time spatial video generation, with founder Zhang Yiming personally overseeing the project.

Chinese technology firm ByteDance is developing an artificial intelligence model capable of generating spatial video in real time. Founder Zhang Yiming is reportedly overseeing the project personally.
The system is built upon ByteDance's Seedance video-generation model. Its aim is to create interactive virtual worlds for applications such as livestreams, short dramas, and games.
The technology is intended to connect with the company's Pico VR headsets. By moving the compute-intensive generation process to the cloud, hardware requirements and costs for future VR devices could be reduced.
While a launch could occur as early as next month, the timing is not finalized, and the plans may still change.
