Chinese technology firm ByteDance is reportedly testing a new personal AI assistant tied to its Doubao product and plans to release it as a standalone application.
The product, tentatively named Xiaodou (小豆) in Chinese, is currently in internal testing. Its public name and features may change prior to a launch.
Previous reports indicated that the project, internally known as "Spell," was developed by the team behind the Doubao phone assistant.
