ByteDance Restructures AI Business, Merging Doubao and Feishu Teams

ByteDance, the Chinese technology conglomerate, has initiated a significant organizational overhaul of its artificial intelligence business. The restructuring is designed to foster greater collaboration between its Doubao, Feishu, and Volcano Engine platforms, particularly in the realm of enterprise productivity tools.

As part of this strategic realignment, ByteDance is merging the Feishu product team with the Doubao product team. This integration will result in the formation of a new, unified Doubao product organization, aimed at streamlining development and leveraging combined expertise.

Furthermore, Feishu's go-to-market (GTM) team will be integrated with Volcano Engine's GTM team. This combined entity will operate as a new enterprise-focused GTM organization, referred to as the Creativity Service Platform. This new unit will manage the marketing, sales, and customer support operations for ByteDance's burgeoning Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings.

While Feishu's existing products and services will continue to operate without immediate changes, the deepened collaboration between the teams is expected to accelerate the development of AI-driven productivity solutions. Reports indicate that the Doubao Enterprise Edition, which has seen significant contributions from the Feishu product team, has already entered internal testing phases with a select group of Feishu customers.
