ByteDance suspends new sales of Coze enterprise AI platform for product restructuring

ByteDance has halted new subscriptions for its Coze AI development platform as it merges the service into the broader Doubao ecosystem.

4 November 2026

ByteDance is restructuring its enterprise AI offerings, announcing that its development platform, Coze, will stop accepting new enterprise customers effective immediately. The move is part of an ongoing internal consolidation that began in August, when the Coze team and the TRAE development project were integrated into the Doubao AI division.

The decision follows the August launch of Doubao Work, a productivity-focused AI agent service. By consolidating these tools, ByteDance aims to unify its business-facing AI capabilities under the Doubao brand. Current Coze enterprise customers will retain access to their existing plans through the duration of their contracts, provided they expire before the final sunset dates.

Existing service contracts remain active, but the company has set a phased withdrawal schedule. Legacy plans purchased through Volcano Engine will be discontinued by December 31, 2026, while newer enterprise-standard and flagship plans are scheduled for termination by December 31, 2027. The company stated that unused portions of legacy subscriptions will be refunded to customer accounts following the service shutdown.
