ByteDance's Volcano Engine Partners with Arm for AI Agent Sandboxes
ByteDance's cloud division, Volcano Engine, is integrating Arm's AGI CPU platform into its next-generation cloud services. The collaboration aims to launch agentic sandboxes powered by Arm's processors.

ByteDance's cloud computing arm, Volcano Engine, is set to leverage Arm's Advanced General Intelligence (AGI) CPU platform for its upcoming cloud services. This partnership will introduce agentic sandboxes, designed for running artificial intelligence agents in large-scale, secure environments.
The initiative was announced during Arm's 'Arm Everywhere' event, signaling a strategic move to enhance AI infrastructure capabilities. These sandboxes are intended to offer elastic and protected spaces for AI agents to operate efficiently.
Arm also introduced its Neoverse CSS N4, a new compute subsystem tailored for AI infrastructure. This subsystem features a high core count of up to 128 cores per die and supports advanced memory and connectivity standards like LPDDR6 memory and PCIe Gen 7.
The collaboration between ByteDance and Arm highlights the growing demand for specialized hardware to support the rapidly expanding field of artificial intelligence and AI agent development. Other Chinese technology firms, including Alipay, OPPO, vivo, and Unitree Robotics, were also recognized by Arm at the event for their contributions to the ecosystem.
