Cadillac Escalade IQ debuts with 200 kWh battery and four-ton curb weight
General Motors has launched the electric Cadillac Escalade IQ, featuring a 460-mile range and a curb weight exceeding 9,000 pounds.

Cadillac has officially entered the luxury electric SUV market with the Escalade IQ. The vehicle utilizes a 200 kWh battery pack, sharing its underlying architecture with other heavy-duty electric vehicles from General Motors, such as the GMC Hummer EV and the Chevrolet Silverado EV.
Performance metrics provided by Cadillac indicate a range of 460 miles (740 km) on the EPA test cycle. However, this range capacity comes with significant physical mass; the Escalade IQ has a curb weight of 9,046 pounds (4,103 kg). This makes the electric iteration approximately one-third heavier than its internal combustion engine predecessor.
Due to its substantial weight, the vehicle is classified in the Class 3 truck category in the United States. While Cadillac maintains that the vehicle fits within standard parking dimensions, the weight profile highlights the engineering trade-offs required to electrify full-size luxury utility vehicles.
