Canada Nickel Closes Samsung SDI Equity Investment

Canada Nickel Company announced Tuesday the closing of a $5 million equity investment from Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. This investment advances the development of Canada Nickel's large-scale Dumont nickel project in Northern Ontario.

The Dumont project is one of the world's largest known nickel deposits. Nickel is increasingly critical for the battery industry and the demand for electric vehicles. The company aims to secure financing and move the project toward commercial production.

Samsung SDI, a major global battery manufacturer, has previously indicated interest in strategic partnerships with significant global nickel projects. This investment could signal potential future supply agreements or collaborations.

Canada Nickel continues with the project's environmental assessment and permitting processes. The company plans to commence construction of the Dumont project in the coming years, while securing necessary financing and obtaining approvals.
