Canada Nickel Receives Government Approval for Crawford Project

Canada Nickel Company Inc. has received official approval from the Canadian government for its Crawford nickel project located in Ontario. This decision marks a significant step towards the commencement of construction, which is targeted for completion by the end of 2026.

The Crawford nickel-sulphide project is recognized as the world's second-largest in terms of nickel resources and reserves. The project has garnered strong support from both federal and provincial authorities, being named part of Ontario's new "One Project, One Process" framework designed to expedite major developments.

To advance the project, Canada Nickel has also secured substantial funding through recent private placements, totaling over C$21 million. Furthermore, the company has entered into a significant agreement with SMS Equipment Inc. and Komatsu for a load and haul fleet purchase valued at approximately C$1.5 billion.

The company aims to leverage the extensive nickel deposits in the Timmins district, which has the potential to become the world's largest nickel sulphide district. Canada Nickel is also developing its NetZero Metals business unit, focused on producing zero-carbon nickel for both stainless steel and electric vehicle battery markets.
