Wildlife photographer Dani Connor has successfully photographed rare Iberian lynx using the Canon EOS R7 system camera during a shoot in Spain's Sierra de Andújar Natural Park. The camera, equipped with an APS-C sensor, facilitated rapid burst shooting at up to 30 frames per second and accurate animal-detection autofocus, which proved crucial in the limited timeframe.

Connor had a narrow window of approximately four minutes to photograph the lynx, one of the world's most endangered cat species. During this period, she managed to capture around 300 images. She highlighted the camera's fast, quiet operation and its subject-detection capabilities as essential for this demanding wildlife scenario.

The EOS R7's 32.5-megapixel APS-C sensor provides a 1.6x focal length advantage over full-frame sensors, beneficial for capturing distant wildlife. The camera's video capabilities, including 4K 60p and Full HD slow-motion up to 120p, were also significant for Connor, who regularly publishes content on her social media channels.

Connor utilized a Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens attached to her EOS R7. She noted that the camera's lightweight, weather-sealed build and comfortable handling were advantageous during long days and when mobility was required. The APS-C sensor effectively converts the 300mm lens's focal length to a 480mm equivalent.
