Canon EOS RP camera tested in South Africa

Photographer Gergo Kazsimer has used Canon's new EOS RP full-frame mirrorless camera for the first time in real-world field conditions across South Africa's diverse landscapes. Kazsimer, who works as a fraud analyst by day, describes the camera as an excellent travel companion due to its compact size and full-frame sensor.

"For me, photography goes hand in hand with nature and hiking," Kazsimer states. "I enjoy being outdoors and capturing moments. It's also a way for me to express myself and show the world through my eyes."

During his trip to South Africa, Kazsimer photographed in varied lighting conditions, from daylight to starlight. He particularly praised the camera's articulating and tilting touchscreen, which significantly speeds up his workflow. The camera features a 26.2-megapixel full-frame sensor and utilizes Canon's RF lenses, while also being compatible with older EF and EF-S lenses via adapters.

The Canon EOS RP is designed for travel photographers and those looking to transition into full-frame photography with lighter equipment. Kazsimer found the switch from his previous Canon EOS 6D camera to be seamless, noting the similarities in ergonomics and user interface.

Canon also offers Canon Professional Services (CPS), where photographers can register their equipment for access to expert advice and maintenance services.
