Canton Fair Launches Buyer Alliance at 140th Edition Opening

The 140th Canton Fair, which commenced on October 15, 2026, saw the official establishment of the Canton Fair Buyer Alliance. Over 140 international buyers attended the launch ceremony, highlighting the fair's enduring role as a conduit for global trade and Chinese exports.

The alliance aims to provide a platform for information sharing and resource coordination for its members, which include Fortune Global 500 companies and major global retailers. The initial cohort comprises 58 companies from 32 countries and regions across five continents. Members will receive prioritized benefits across services, events, resources, and information.

Luís Vilariça, CEO of Joinco, Import & Export, Ltd., spoke at the ceremony about his company's long-standing relationship with the Canton Fair and its role in fostering international business development. Representatives from alliance member companies read a joint statement in their native languages, emphasizing the organization's global reach.

This initiative is part of the Canton Fair's efforts to enhance its services for major international businesses. The alliance is designed to offer preferential access and specific advantages to its members, facilitating trade and collaboration with Chinese suppliers.
