Capitola Police Department Patrol Fleet Equipped with Life-Saving AEDs
The Capitola Police Department has equipped its entire patrol fleet with Avive Connect AED devices, enhancing immediate response capabilities for cardiac emergencies.

The Capitola Police Department has completed the outfitting of its entire patrol vehicle fleet with automated external defibrillators (AEDs). The devices are Avive Connect AED models, and their integration into the fleet was made possible through a collaborative effort involving local organizations.
Donations from Avive and the Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce, coordinated by Six Minutes to Live: Santa Cruz, have ensured that every police cruiser is now equipped with a life-saving device. This initiative aims to significantly improve response times and survival rates for cardiac arrest incidents within the community.
Placing AEDs directly within patrol vehicles drastically reduces the time required to bring the device to a patient in a critical situation. Capitola, situated in the San Francisco Bay Area, sees this as a key step in enhancing local emergency medical response readiness.
A statement from the Capitola Police Chief's office indicated that, "This is a significant enhancement to our ability to assist citizens in acute emergencies." The devices are designed for intuitive use, allowing first responders to deploy them effectively during critical moments.
