Carbios announced a three-month adjustment to the construction timeline for its Longlaville PET biorecycling plant. The company is still seeking approximately 10% of the project's financing.

Clermont-Ferrand, France – December 18, 2025 – Biotechnology company Carbios has announced a three-month adjustment to the construction timeline for its planned PET biorecycling plant in Longlaville.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to the project and aims to secure the remaining financing by the end of the first quarter of 2026. Approximately 10% of the total financing for the construction project still needs to be secured.
Carbios has secured pre-commercialization contracts covering close to 50% of the future industrial site's production capacity. Additionally, the company has received €42.5 million in secured public funding.
The company previously stated the plant will be financially independent, with non-recourse financing to Carbios. If all financing conditions are met by the end of Q1 2026, the plant is expected to start operations in the first half of 2028.
Carbios also continues to license its technology, having signed an agreement with Wankai New Materials for the deployment of its PET biorecycling technology in Asia. The company aims to sign additional license agreements in Europe, North America, and South America.
