Biotechnology company CARBIOS is progressing with the industrialization of its biological solutions designed to reshape the life cycle of plastics and textiles. The company's technologies focus on enzymatic recycling processes for PET plastics and the biodegradation of PLA.

CARBIOS is scaling up two key technologies aimed at preventing plastic and textile pollution and facilitating the shift towards a circular economy. An industrial demonstration plant for bi recycling has been operational since 2021. The construction of the world's first bi recycling plant is set to resume, contingent on securing necessary additional funding before the end of 2025.

The company has garnered support from major brands across the cosmetics, food, and apparel industries seeking to enhance product recyclability and circularity. Nestlé Waters, PepsiCo, and Suntory Beverage & Food Europe are members of a packaging consortium co-founded by CARBIOS and L'Oréal. In the textile sector, CARBIOS collaborates with partners including On, Patagonia, PUMA, PVH Corp., and Salomon.

Founded in 2011 by Truffle Capital, CARBIOS is committed to developing sustainable bio-based technologies to address waste challenges and promote a circular economy for plastics and textiles.
