CARE Germany Provided Aid to 4.1 Million People in 2023
CARE Germany reached almost 4.1 million people across 46 countries in 2023. The organization's revenues increased by 23 million euros to a total of 102.5 million euros.

CARE Germany reported assisting nearly 4.1 million people through 149 projects in 46 countries during 2023. According to the organization's annual report, significant resources were directed to crisis regions, including Türkiye, Syria, Sudan, Morocco, Afghanistan, and Libya, which were affected by major earthquakes and floods.
The humanitarian situation was exacerbated by numerous crises throughout the year. In Sudan, renewed fighting worsened an already tense situation, impacting 18 million people with acute hunger. The Middle East also saw a dramatic escalation in October, leading to a severe humanitarian catastrophe. Despite challenging conditions, CARE staff continued to provide aid.
Financially, CARE Germany saw a substantial increase in revenue, rising by 23 million euros to 102.5 million euros in 2023 compared to the previous year. Expenditures totaled 97.6 million euros. Institutional donors, including governmental bodies and the European Union, accounted for 43 percent of the revenue, supplemented by significant support from companies, foundations, and over 76,000 individual donors.
Of the total expenditures, 89 percent was directly allocated to project funding. Seven percent was invested in public relations and fundraising, three percent in quality assurance and administration, and one percent in educational work. CARE emphasized its commitment to transparency and effective use of every euro.
