Cargill, the global food and agriculture corporation, recently hosted an event enabling current and former interns to exchange experiences and professional insights.
The gathering, timed with National Intern Day on July 25, brought together individuals like Mamifio (Fio) Kulee, a current supply chain intern, and Tommy Clark, who completed an internship seven years prior and now serves as a senior supply chain optimization analyst.
Kulee, a supply chain management student at the Rochester Institute of Technology, described her initial experience with the industry as complex and eye-opening. During her internship, she has focused on inventory management and learned the value of collaboration, recognizing that not all answers are immediately available. She aims to join Cargill's global supply chain rotational program after graduation.
Clark, who began his career as an intern at a Cargill salt facility, has progressed through various roles and programs to lead his own team in the animal nutrition business. He emphasized the role of internship programs in gaining practical experience and building networks, viewing the mentorship of new interns as "full circle."
Cargill offers a variety of internship and co-op programs, designed to equip students with the skills and connections needed for impactful careers within the company.
