Cargill Integrates Chicken Business for Broader Customer Solutions
Cargill has integrated its European chicken business into its broader food unit. The move aims to simplify customer interactions and offer more comprehensive product solutions.

Agricultural giant Cargill has streamlined its European operations by merging its protein (chicken) business into its wider Cargill Food unit. This integration is designed to provide food manufacturers with a more unified approach and integrated solutions.
The company stated that the change responds to customer feedback, as businesses previously interacted with multiple Cargill teams across different product categories. The new structure aims to reduce customer touchpoints and simplify the product development process from ingredients to finished goods.
This integration also grants customers access to Cargill's broader ingredient portfolio, which includes items like oils, starches, and sweeteners. This facilitates a more holistic product development approach, enabling components for items such as chicken nuggets—including the protein, coating system, and frying oil—to be optimized collaboratively.
Cargill emphasizes that the integration strengthens its co-creation efforts with customers. The company sees particular potential in developing new types of snack products and private label offerings for retailers, aiming to deliver high-quality, competitive, and retailer-specific poultry solutions.
