Cargill Introduces EpiCor Postbiotic Ingredient in North America

Cargill, a global supplier of food, agriculture, finance, and industrial products, has introduced its EpiCor postbiotic ingredient to the North American market. Derived from the fermentation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (baker's yeast), EpiCor contains a mix of metabolites and other bioactive compounds. It has been clinically shown to support immune health and positively modulate the gut microbiome.

Following the scientific consensus definition of postbiotics, EpiCor is a preparation of inanimate microorganisms and/or their components that confers a health benefit on the host. The ingredient has been studied in over 15 published studies and is described by the company as the most formulated postbiotic ingredient on the market, incorporated into numerous dietary supplements.

The development of EpiCor originated from an observation that certain factory workers experienced fewer sick days than their colleagues. Subsequent studies indicated that exposure to the product supported their immune health. The ingredient has demonstrated stability and versatility for formulation into dietary supplements, adult nutrition offerings, and even pet food.

Cargill highlights EpiCor's benefits, including a low effective dose (500mg daily), extended shelf life, and multiple quality certifications such as non-GMO and gluten-free. The company also offers formulation support, including partnerships with gummy manufacturers.
