Cargill, McDonald's Canada Support Sustainable Beef Industry
Cargill and McDonald's Canada are celebrating two decades of partnership focused on supply chain innovation and supporting local ranchers. The companies are also investing in future leaders and research for sustainable beef production.

Cargill and McDonald's Canada have reinforced a 20-year partnership aimed at fostering innovation and supporting local supply chains. The collaboration focuses on ensuring the sustainability of Canada's beef supply chain while providing support to local ranchers.
The partnership's significance is highlighted by a shared industry milestone: the 10th anniversary of the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (CRSB). Both Cargill and McDonald's Canada were founding members of the CRSB, an organization dedicated to advancing and measuring continuous improvement in the sustainability of the Canadian beef value chain.
The companies are also investing in the industry's future talent through the Canadian Cattle Young Leaders (CYL) program. As top-level partners, they have helped mentor over 200 young professionals, equipping them with skills to address evolving challenges such as adopting regenerative grazing practices and engaging with consumers.
Furthermore, Cargill and McDonald's Canada have jointly invested over $100,000 in research through the Beef Cattle Research Council. These initiatives focus on soil health, grazing management, and carbon sequestration, aiming to bolster Canada's beef industry as a global leader in sustainable farming. The CRSB's certification framework also offers third-party verified assurance for sustainable practices.
