Cargill Unveils 20 Innovations Shaping Food's Future

Agricultural giant Cargill has revealed 20 key innovations designed to tackle the challenges of feeding a growing global population and advancing sustainability. According to the company, these advancements, spearheaded by Chief Technology Officer Florian Schattenmann, are set to shape the future of food and agriculture.

The innovations are categorized into three main areas: health and nutrition, transformative development, and sustainability. In health and nutrition, Cargill has removed 1.5 billion pounds of trans fats from its food supply chain, aligning with World Health Organization guidelines. The company also developed EpiCor, a postbiotic ingredient that supports the immune system and is found in supplements for both humans and pets.

Under transformative development, Cargill is focusing on solutions for plant-based foods. The company has launched its own plant-based products and collaborates with startups like CUBIQ FOODS to develop innovative fats, such as Go!Drop®.

In sustainability, Cargill aims to reduce food waste and enhance agricultural efficiency. The company is also investing in cultivated meat companies, such as Wildtype, which is developing cultivated salmon. These initiatives underscore Cargill's commitment to promoting sustainable and healthy food solutions worldwide.
