Cargill, a major player in the agriculture and food industries, presented over 100 new products at the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE) held in Shanghai from November 5-10, 2021. The diverse range of innovations included ingredients for beauty products, alternative protein options, immune-supporting supplements, and advancements in sustainable shipping.

The company highlighted its 50-year history in China during the event. Jerry Liu, president of Cargill in China, stated that the CIIE serves as a bridge connecting China with the world, mirroring Cargill's long-standing presence and commitment to the country.

Among the showcased products were plant-based alternatives like "fish sticks" and "fried pork-flavored strips" containing DHA and dietary fiber, as well as frying oils packaged in eco-friendly materials. Cargill also introduced functional snacks and pet foods fortified with EpiCor®, a patented postbiotic ingredient, to support immune health.

Additionally, Cargill announced a commitment to invest up to $7.8 million over the next five years in rural revitalization initiatives in China. This includes projects focused on water resource protection and farmer training. The company also launched a strategic partnership with the China Environmental Protection Foundation for the "Streams Action" project, aiming to improve water quality near its farms.
