Cargotec Adjusts Leadership Team Amid Kalmar Spin-Off Preparations
Cargotec announced leadership changes effective April 1, 2024, as part of the planned separation of its Kalmar business. Carina Geber-Teir will move to lead Investor Relations and Communications for Kalmar.
Helsinki – Cargotec Corporation announced on February 1, 2024, adjustments to its leadership team, effective April 1. These changes are driven by the company's ongoing plan to separate its Kalmar business through a partial demerger, aiming for a potential separate listing.
Carina Geber-Teir, currently Cargotec's SVP of Communications, has been appointed Head of Investor Relations and Communications for Kalmar. She will commence this new role on April 1 and join the Kalmar leadership team, subsequently leaving Cargotec's executive group.
Previously, on November 9, 2023, Cargotec announced the appointment of Sami Niiranen as President of Kalmar and his nomination as the prospective CEO of the standalone Kalmar entity. Niiranen is set to begin as President of Kalmar on April 1, also joining Cargotec's leadership team.
The Cargotec leadership team, as of April 1, will include Casimir Lindholm (President and CEO), Mikko Puolakka (EVP, CFO), Mikko Pelkonen (SVP, Human Resources), Mikael Laine (SVP, Strategy), Soili Mäkinen (SVP, Sustainable Business Development), Outi Aaltonen (SVP, General Counsel), Scott Phillips (President, Hiab), Sami Niiranen (President, Kalmar, until the demerger completion), and Leif Byström (President, MacGregor).
Kalmar's own leadership team has also been reshaped in preparation for the planned listing. Effective April 1, Kalmar's leadership will consist of Sami Niiranen (President and proposed CEO), Sakari Ahdekivi (CFO), Carina Geber-Teir (Head of IR and Communications), Francois Guetat (Head of Integrated Supply Chain), Mathias Höglund (Head of Human Resources, starting May 1), Tommi Pettersson (Head of Strategy, Sustainability and Technology), Marika Väkiparta (Head of Transformation Office), Alf-Gunnar Karlgren (Head of Counterbalanced), Thor Brenden (Head of Terminal Tractors), Arto Keskinen (Head of Horizontal Transportation), Shushu Zhang (Head of Bromma), and Thomas Malmborg (Head of Services). A Head of Legal & Compliance will be appointed later.
