Cargotec Reports Record Year for Kalmar and Hiab in 2022
Cargotec has announced its 2022 financial results, highlighting a record year for its Kalmar and Hiab business areas. Orders received and sales reached their highest levels. For the fourth quarter of 2022, Cargotec's orders increased by 13% to EUR 1,190 million, with sales rising 36% to EUR 1,239 million.
Helsinki – Cargotec Corporation reported strong financial results for 2022, marking a record year for its Kalmar and Hiab divisions. The company announced that orders received, sales, and comparable operating profit all reached historically high levels for the full year.
Throughout 2022, Cargotec saw a 10% increase in orders received, totaling EUR 4,862 million. Sales grew by 23% to EUR 4,089 million. Notably, service sales increased by 17% to EUR 1,264 million, while sales from the company's eco-portfolio grew by 54% to EUR 964 million, indicating a strategic shift towards sustainable solutions.
The company's comparable operating profit for the year improved by 43% to EUR 332 million. However, the reported operating profit was significantly impacted by items affecting comparability, largely due to portfolio rationalization efforts, particularly within the MacGregor segment.
Looking ahead to 2023, Cargotec anticipates further improvement in its core businesses. The company projects positive comparable operating profit for both Kalmar and Hiab, as well as for MacGregor. The Board of Directors has proposed a dividend of EUR 1.34 for class A shares and EUR 1.35 for class B shares.
