Carnival Cruise Line begins construction of new "Carnival Destiny" vessel

Carnival Cruise Line officially began the construction of its latest cruise ship, "Carnival Destiny," with a traditional steel-cutting ceremony in Monfalcone, Italy, on July 11, 2026. This vessel is the first in the company's new Ace class and is scheduled to enter service in the summer of 2029.

The ceremony took place at Fincantieri's shipyard and also marked the public announcement of the ship's name. Carnival has a long-standing relationship with Fincantieri, spanning over 30 years, which began with the original "Carnival Destiny," once the largest cruise ship in the world.

The new "Carnival Destiny" is designed to offer an enhanced sea view experience through its "More Sea to See™" concept. The ship will feature an unprecedented number of ocean-view balcony staterooms, a redesigned deck promenade, and over 4.5 acres of glass, including a large multi-level glass wall. The aim is to maximize the scenic views and strengthen guests' connection to the ocean.

More than 70 percent of the ship's spaces and features represent new concepts for Carnival, encompassing reimagined dining experiences, a new generation of bars and lounges, immersive entertainment, and vibrant outdoor areas. This signifies a substantial refresh of the company's offerings.

"Carnival Destiny" will sail Carnival's routes to destinations in the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mexico. Further details regarding the ship's amenities and experiences will be released later this year.
