Cars24 Launches Enterprise AI Firm Deployment Inc, Invests $5 Million

Used car marketplace Cars24 announced the launch of its independent enterprise AI company, Deployment Inc. The new entity will focus on assisting organizations with the design, implementation, and operation of AI systems across their critical business workflows.

Deployment Inc has secured $5 million in seed funding from Cars24. The startup is led by Cars24 executive Jayesh Gupta and former xAI backend engineering specialist Aayush Gupta. The company plans to significantly expand its team, aiming to hire 50 engineers along with AI strategy and go-to-market professionals this month.

The business model for Deployment Inc centers on a team of "forward deployed engineers" (FDEs). These engineers will embed within client organizations to address fragmented deployment procedures that often involve multiple teams and extended timelines. Their objective is to connect AI models with a company's data and systems, deploy new workflows, benchmark performance, and ensure reliable scaled operations.

Cars24 co-founder and CEO Vikram Chopra stated, "Every enterprise will soon have access to powerful AI models. The scarce capability will be knowing how to turn them into systems that customers and employees can depend on." Deployment Inc has also been selected as an OpenAI Select Partner for enterprise deployments, enabling it to leverage OpenAI's advanced capabilities for building production AI systems.

This new venture stems from the AI operating model Cars24 developed internally to streamline its own operations. The company claims that implementing AI has reduced service request turnaround times from 32 hours to 30 minutes and halved inspection times, while tripling engineering team output.
