CARVYKTI® achieved five-year treatment-free remissions in early-stage myeloma
New results from the CARTITUDE-2 study show that 50% of patients with early relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma achieved five-year treatment-free remissions after a single CARVYKTI® infusion.
New long-term follow-up data from the CARTITUDE-2 study indicate that 50% of patients with early relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) achieved five-year treatment-free remission following a single infusion of CARVYKTI® (ciltacabtagene autoleucel).
The study subgroup included 20 patients who had received one to three prior lines of therapy. At a median follow-up of 60.7 months, 10 patients remained alive and progression-free without maintenance therapy. The five-year overall survival rate was 69.2%, and the median progression-free survival was 60.5 months.
These findings build upon earlier results from the CARTITUDE-1 study, which assessed patients in later lines of therapy. The new data suggest that initiating CARVYKTI® treatment earlier may increase the likelihood of achieving durable, long-term remissions.
The results were presented at the International Myeloma Society (IMS) Annual Meeting. The study also noted that even patients with high-risk disease features achieved long-term remission, with half remaining progression-free at five years. The safety profile of CARVYKTI® remained consistent with known data.
