Casio Releases Limited MR-G Watch for 30th Anniversary

Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced the release of a new MR-G timepiece, part of the flagship G-SHOCK line of shock-resistant watches. The MRG-B2100HR model will be produced in a limited edition of 800 units worldwide, marking the 30th anniversary of the MR-G series, which debuted in 1996.

The watch features a dimensional latticework dial inspired by traditional Japanese joinery techniques called kigumi. Each dial is adorned with platinum leaf applied by artist Hiroto Rakusho, giving each timepiece a distinct character. The bezel and bracelet are finished with metal leaf-inspired textures created using structural color technology, which produces colors that change with the viewing angle.

This new model is based on the shock-resistant MRG-B2100 with its octagonal bezel. The timepiece utilizes advanced materials, including COBARION alloy for the bezel and DAT55G alloy for the bracelet. Casio combines traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology to highlight the beauty of metal leaf in this commemorative edition.

The MR-G series has been known for its durability and premium design since 1996. This anniversary watch represents a blend of tradition and innovation, bringing together technical excellence and artistic inspiration.
