Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has introduced a new MR-G timepiece, part of its G-SHOCK shock-resistant watch collection. The MRG-D5000 features a screwless design with a bezel made entirely of blue sapphire crystal, produced in a limited run of 20 units worldwide.

Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has launched a new addition to its MR-G collection, the flagship line of its G-SHOCK shock-resistant watches. The MRG-D5000 model features a screwless, multi-component structure and a bezel crafted entirely from blue sapphire crystal. This new timepiece is being released in a limited edition of just 20 units globally.
The MRG-D5000 is the first G-SHOCK watch to incorporate a shock-resistant structure using components made from blue sapphire crystal. Casio's proprietary Multi-Guard Structure employs a multi-component assembly for the bezel and case, specifically designed to avoid screws that could stress the sapphire. The company analyzed impact forces on the crystal to develop a structure optimized for its protection. The watch's screw-lock case back also features blue sapphire crystal and is individually numbered.
Casio is also releasing two other timepieces incorporating blue sapphire crystal. The MRG-B5000SA features two-carat, facet-cut blue sapphires at the top and bottom of its case, with a super-hard alloy bezel. The GMW-B5000SB, a full-metal G-SHOCK, includes blue sapphire stones set at four points on the front of its bezel.
The MR-G collection, launched in 1996, has consistently aimed to blend toughness with aesthetic beauty, utilizing advanced processing technologies and craftsmanship.
