Casio to Launch Limited-Edition MR-G Watch for 30th Anniversary

Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has announced the upcoming release of a new MR-G watch, marking the 30th anniversary of its flagship G-SHOCK shock-resistant line. The MRG-B2100HR model will be produced as a limited edition, with only 800 units available worldwide.

The new timepiece features a three-dimensional lattice dial, inspired by traditional Japanese kumi woodworking techniques, and is accented with platinum leaf. The bezel and band incorporate structural color technology, creating textures reminiscent of metal leaf that shift in color depending on the viewing angle.

Inspired by the existing MRG-B2100 shock-resistant model with its octagonal bezel, the MRG-B2100HR distinguishes itself with its intricate dial design. Each watch face is individually finished by metal leaf artist Hiroto Rakusho, using powdered platinum to add depth and a unique character to every piece.

The watch utilizes advanced materials, including COBARION and DAT55G alloys, for its bezel and band. The bezel itself is constructed from 27 individually polished components. This release highlights Casio's approach of blending traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology to showcase the aesthetic qualities of fine metal and the inherent durability of the G-SHOCK brand.
