Casio to Release New G-SHOCK Watch Crafted from Blue Sapphire Crystal
Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announces the release of a new MR-G G-SHOCK watch featuring a screwless design and a bezel made entirely of blue sapphire crystal. The MRG-D5000 model will be a limited edition of just 20 pieces worldwide.

Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has announced the upcoming release of a new MR-G timepiece, expanding its flagship collection of G-SHOCK shock-resistant watches. The MRG-D5000 model features a multi-component, screwless structure with a bezel constructed entirely from blue sapphire crystal. This exclusive watch will be available in a limited global edition of only 20 units.
The MR-G collection, established in 1996, is recognized for its fusion of toughness and aesthetic appeal, achieved through advanced processing technologies and craftsmanship. For the MRG-D5000, Casio has developed a novel shock-resistant structure using blue sapphire crystal components. The watch's case and bezel are assembled from multiple parts without screws, a design choice aimed at preventing potential cracking of the sapphire crystal under impact.
Further enhancing its exclusivity, the screw-lock case back of the MRG-D5000 incorporates blue sapphire crystal and is individually numbered for each of the 20 limited pieces. The timepiece also includes a Gallium Tough Solar module, designed for durability and efficient charging in strong light conditions.
In addition to the MRG-D5000, Casio is releasing two other models incorporating blue sapphire crystal. The MRG-B5000SA is an MR-G watch featuring two-carat, facet-cut blue sapphires at the top and bottom of its case, complemented by a super-hard alloy bezel and blue arc ion plating. The GMW-B5000SB, a full-metal G-SHOCK, includes blue sapphire stones set at four points on the front of its bezel.
