Catalyx Launches OpenLine to Integrate Disparate Manufacturing Systems

Newtown-based Catalyx has unveiled OpenLine, a platform intended to unify disparate vision systems, production equipment, and enterprise software within industrial settings. The technology aims to address common manufacturing bottlenecks caused by equipment from various vendors that lack interoperability, forcing operators to bridge gaps with manual processes.

Catalyx CEO Mario L. Rocci, Jr. noted that while manufacturers invest significantly in individual production tools, these assets often fail to communicate effectively. OpenLine acts as a centralized architecture, allowing for automated responses based on inspection results and creating a digital record for all operations. This integration is designed to improve throughput and maintain consistency, particularly as companies shift toward smaller, more frequent production batches.

Designed for highly regulated environments, the system incorporates features necessary to meet standards such as GAMP 5, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and EU Annex 11. These include role-based access and secure audit trails. In a multi-site case study, the company reported that a medical device manufacturer utilized the platform to scale annual output from 3 million to 50 million units while maintaining high yield rates.

OpenLine is available for immediate global deployment.
