Catana Catamaran Oceanus II Aids Marine Biodiversity Research

The German magazine Natur has published an article on the "Blue Ocean" expedition to Gorringe Bank in the Atlantic Ocean. The feature highlights the work of the Catana-built catamaran, Oceanus II, the shipyard's very first hull.

The vessel is utilized by the CCMAR scientific team from the University of the Algarve for research missions. These include the deployment of a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) at depths ranging from 65 to 160 meters.

This collaboration underscores the longevity and continued operational effectiveness of the Catana series, with Oceanus II remaining in service for marine study and exploration.

Catana Group, known for its luxury sailing catamarans, demonstrates through this project the adaptability of its vessels for demanding scientific applications beyond leisure cruising.
