Catana Group, a builder of sailing catamarans, is reporting on the performance of its Catana OC 50 model, "Piment Rouge", in the ARC+ rally. The vessel, captained by Pierre de Saint Vincent, is currently positioned at the front of the fleet, nearing the finish in Mindelo.

"Piment Rouge" achieved a new record, covering 251 nautical miles in a 24-hour period, averaging 10.4 knots. Another Catana OC 50, named "O’vive", is in close pursuit, also competing for the leading position.

The company states that the crew aboard "Piment Rouge" has reported an excellent atmosphere. During the rally, the crew has been actively analyzing weather data and routing strategies. The vessel carries a seven-person crew operating in three-hour shifts.

Crew member Didier described the sailing experience as "fluid" and noted the boat's comfort and ability to maintain "good average speeds." The catamaran reportedly reaches planing speeds easily and handles waves smoothly.
