Catholic Charities USA Launches Relief Fund for Hurricane Isaias Victims

Alexandria, Va. – Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) has launched a dedicated relief fund to assist individuals and communities affected by Hurricane Isaias. The organization announced that 100 percent of all funds raised will be allocated to local Catholic Charities agencies.

These local branches will provide critical relief, including shelter, food, and other humanitarian aid, to displaced and suffering residents. The initiative comes as forecasts predict devastating winds and dangerous storm surges along the Gulf Coast.

"Our sisters and brothers along the Gulf Coast need our prayers and support as this powerful storm threatens their communities," said CCUSA President and CEO Kerry Alys Robinson. "The staff and volunteers of local Catholic Charities agencies throughout the region will be there to bring comfort and hope to their neighbors in need."

CCUSA and its network of agencies have a history of responding to approximately 60 disasters annually, ranging from hurricanes and tornadoes to fires and floods, offering both immediate and long-term recovery assistance. The organization, founded in 1910, supports 170 Catholic Charities agencies across the United States and its territories.
