CATL and Quinbrook Advance Supernode Partnership
CATL and Quinbrook have achieved key milestones in their Supernode battery storage project in Australia. Phase 2 is now commercially operational, and Phase 3 has secured AUD 469 million in financing.
BRISBANE, Australia – Battery technology company CATL and investment firm Quinbrook have advanced their collaboration on the Supernode battery storage project in Australia.
The project has reached two significant milestones. Phase 2 of the Supernode project, with a capacity of 100 MW / 200 MWh, has been brought into commercial operation. Simultaneously, AUD 469 million (approximately USD 300 million) in financing has been secured for Phase 3.
Phase 3 is planned to significantly increase the system's total capacity. Further details regarding the size and timeline for Phase 3 are expected later. CATL is supplying lithium-ion battery systems for the project.
The investment is part of a broader effort to strengthen Australia's electricity grid and support the integration of renewable energy. The Supernode project aims to provide substantial battery storage capacity in the state of Queensland.
