CATL Opens Largest European Battery Service Center in Norway

Chinese battery manufacturer CATL opened its largest NING SERVICE center outside Asia in Oslo on September 24, 2026. The 8,000 square meter facility is set to bolster the company's battery service network across Norway and the Nordic region.

The new center will provide comprehensive battery-related services, train local technicians, and support circular economy initiatives. Norway is a leading market for electric vehicles, with battery electric vehicles accounting for 98.7% of new passenger car registrations in August. This growth necessitates increased demand for battery diagnostics, repair, and lifespan extension services.

NING SERVICE aims to cover the entire battery lifecycle, from testing and maintenance to repair, second life, and recycling. The company emphasizes battery repair over replacement, reducing repair times for complex issues from 72 to 48 hours. The center will also serve as a brand experience space and sales agent for emerging electric applications, including marine vessels, eVTOL aircraft, and robotics.

CATL's investment in Norway aligns with its commitment to the circular economy, focusing on extending battery lifespan and recycling materials. The facility is expected to create skilled green jobs and become a key training hub for NING SERVICE in the Nordics. CATL plans to collaborate with Norwegian educational institutions to develop local expertise.
