Caverion to build EUR 21 million power line for Fingrid

Construction company Caverion Oyj has secured a contract valued at approximately EUR 21 million with Finland's transmission system operator Fingrid Oyj for a new power transmission line to be constructed in Western Finland. The agreement entails the construction of two parallel 400/110 kV power lines spanning a total length of 60 kilometers, along with the erection of 200 steel pylons.

The project commenced in October 2025, with the power transmission connection slated for completion in 2027. Fingrid stated that this undertaking is part of a larger initiative encompassing 400 kilometers of new 400 kV power lines and several substations. Keijo Välimaa, Head of Fingrid's Power Line Projects unit, expressed confidence in Caverion's capabilities for successful implementation, referencing prior 110 kV projects.

Caverion indicated that the power line project will bolster Fingrid's transmission capacity, facilitating efficient electricity transfer from Sweden and northern Finland to the southern regions. The project is intended to support the development of renewable energy in Finland, contribute to achieving national climate goals, and help maintain the country's electricity self-sufficiency. Kari Aalto, Director of Caverion Finland's Industrial Projects and Infrastructure, highlighted the importance of a reliable transmission grid for the green transition and industrial investments.

Caverion has a track record of implementing nearly 50 power line projects of various sizes in Finland over the past decade. The company's services cater to the energy industry across its entire value chain, from production to distribution.
