Caverion to build technical systems for data center in Kouvola
Caverion Oyj has been selected as the technical construction and installation partner for a new data center in Kouvola, Finland. The contract is one of the largest in the company's history.
On December 10, 2025, the project company for the Kouvola data center initiative, Hyperco Fin HoldCo 1, and Caverion Oyj signed an agreement for the technical construction and installation of data infrastructure. The contract value has not been disclosed, but it is described as one of the largest in Assemblin Caverion Group's history.
Caverion's responsibilities will include the data center's cooling, ventilation, fire alarm, fire extinguishing, and smoke extraction systems, as well as electrical and HVAC installations. The assignment also covers the interior construction of the data center rooms. This project is a significant undertaking for Caverion in the data center sector.
Aleksi Taipale, Co-Founder and CEO at Hyperco, highlighted that the cooperation strengthens the project's domestic content and employment impact in the Kouvola region and across Finland. He also noted Finland's advantages for data centers, including a safe operating environment, cool climate, and reliable power and connectivity.
Ville Tamminen, CEO of Caverion Finland, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, emphasizing Finland's potential to lead in sustainable data infrastructure development. Jacob Götzsche, Executive Chairman of Assemblin Caverion Group, added that data centers are a strategically important and growing segment for the group.
The project is scheduled to commence in the spring of 2026, with phased completion expected from the end of 2026. Caverion has prior experience in several data center projects in Sweden and Finland.
