Caverion to Construct Large-Scale High-Voltage Substation in Denmark

Caverion has been awarded a contract valued at approximately DKK 67 million to lead the expansion of the high-voltage substation in Kassø, Denmark. The project, set to begin in February 2027, includes the construction of a 400 kV AIS substation and two additional 150 kV substations, replacing existing infrastructure.

The expanded site will encompass approximately 135 hectares, with electrical installations occupying about 50 hectares. As a key node in the Danish transmission grid, the Kassø station facilitates cross-border energy exchange, notably with Germany, and serves as a vital component in managing increasing volumes of wind and solar power.

Energy infrastructure operator Energinet emphasized that the project is essential for securing a resilient grid capable of supporting Denmark’s ongoing electrification. The contract represents a significant infrastructure mandate for Caverion, further establishing its role in large-scale energy grid modernization.
