Cavico Corp., a Vietnam-based infrastructure development company, has announced the completion of construction at the Dong Nai 3 Hydropower Plant. Its wholly owned subsidiary, Cavico Hydropower, has begun the handover process to the project owner, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).

The construction, which involved excavating and building a 655-meter-long headrace tunnel and other associated structures, commenced in 2007. Located on the Dong Nai River in Dak Nong province, approximately 174 miles north of Ho Chi Minh City, the Dong Nai 3 plant has a twin-unit capacity of 180 megawatts. It is expected to supply around 589 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually to the region.

Cavico Corp. specializes in large-scale infrastructure projects, including hydropower facilities, dams, bridges, and tunnels. The company also engages in infrastructure investments within Vietnam. Cavico employs over 3,000 personnel globally, with offices across Vietnam and one in Australia.

Hai Thanh Tran, vice president of Cavico Corp., stated the company is pleased with the project's safe and timely completion. He added that upon finalization of the handover, Cavico will shift its focus to revenue generation from the Dong Nai 4 Hydropower Plant construction.
