CB&I and AG&P Industrial complete unique steel LNG tanks in Philippines

CB&I and its client AG&P Industrial have achieved a significant milestone with the completion and commissioning of two 60,000 cubic meter, fully contained liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tanks at the LNGPH Ilijan LNG Facility in the Philippines. This project marks the first time fully contained steel LNG tanks have been commissioned in the country.

The development is part of broader efforts to expand the Philippines' LNG infrastructure. The Ilijan LNG facility is noted as the Philippines' first floating LNG terminal, aiming to meet the nation's growing energy demands. CB&I served as the technology licensor and EPC contractor for the tanks, while AG&P Industrial provided local expertise and execution.

This achievement highlights the growing importance of LNG as a global energy source, driven by its perceived reliability and environmental benefits compared to other fossil fuels. The use of fully contained steel tanks represents an advanced approach to LNG storage, emphasizing safety and operational efficiency.
