CB&I to manage Kittiwake platform through decommissioning
CB&I's Asset Solutions business has secured a contract extension with EnQuest to continue as Duty Holder for the Kittiwake platform in the North Sea until its cessation of production and decommissioning.

ABERDEEN, Scotland – CB&I's Asset Solutions business has signed a new contract with EnQuest to continue managing the Kittiwake platform in the UK North Sea. The agreement extends CB&I's role as Duty Holder through the asset's cessation of production (COP) and into its decommissioning phase.
The contract expands CB&I's responsibilities beyond late-life asset management to include the preparation and facilitation of the decommissioning process. CB&I has been the Duty Holder for the Kittiwake platform since 2003, building on its pioneering role in outsourced asset management which began in 1997.
The Kittiwake platform serves as a central hub for several subsea tie-backs within the Greater Kittiwake Area. CB&I highlighted its success in enhancing operational performance and extending the asset's operational life, supported by a strong safety record of over 20 years without a lost-time injury (LTI).
John Pearson, Chief Operating Officer of CB&I Asset Solutions, stated the contract reflects a long-standing relationship and expertise. "Kittiwake is synonymous with strong team spirit and safe practices," Pearson said. EnQuest's Kittiwake Asset Manager, John Telford, acknowledged CB&I's consistent operational performance and commitment to safety over the years.
