CBS ArcSafe Adds Wireless Operation to RSK-DS10 Switch Actuator

CBS ArcSafe has updated its Chicken Switch® RSK-DS10 remote switch kit (RSK), which is used for operating DS-style circuit breakers. The update from the Texas-based company introduces wireless operation, powered by the Milwaukee M18 battery platform.

The updated RSK-DS10 allows technicians to trip and close DS-style circuit breakers from a safe distance, outside the arc flash boundary. This reduces the need for heavy protective gear and improves working conditions for teams maintaining this equipment. DS-style breakers, common in facilities, are manufactured by companies including Westinghouse, Cutler-Hammer, Square D, and Eaton.

The new battery-powered version aligns with CBS ArcSafe's other remote switching solutions. The device attaches to the breaker face with magnets and requires no modifications to existing electrical equipment. Users can opt for a corded version with 30 or 50-foot operating lengths, or the new wireless version with a range of up to 150 feet with line of sight.
